breaking_bad_iconIt is amazing to me that Walt still feels like he's been wronged, even as he declared himself the victor in the war against Gus. I think that is what has driven Walt in the episodes we've seen so far this season, and especially in this episode. We find out the source of that mindset -- something that hasn't been addressed since the first season -- here, and it does speak to the stubborness that makes Walt who he is now. He thought that since he was the proverbial big man on campus now, he should get to reap the benefits without the hassle of paying employees. While he is king of the operation, there are the little details that Walt completely overlooks.

breaking_bad_iconWalt's audacious murder of Gus Fring in last season's finale guaranteed his family's safety. After all, the drug kingpin threatened to kill everyone close to Walt and Walt couldn't allow that to happen. With Gus out of the way, though, the transformation of Walt from meek chemistry teacher to "Heisenberg" is now complete.
