SYFY DEVELOPING TWO CLASSIC SCIENCE FICTION NOVELS TO MINISERIES *LARRY NIVEN’S RINGWORLD* FROM MGM TELEVISION AND UNIVERSAL CABLE PRODUCTIONS ARTHUR C. CLARKE’S CHILDHOOD’S END WITH MICHAEL DELUCA AS EXECUTIVE PRODUCER AND UNIVERSAL CABLE PRODUCTIONS NEW YORK – April 10, 2013 – Syfy announced today it is developing miniseries based on two of science fiction’s greatest novels: Larry Niven’s Ringworld and Arthur C. Clarke’s Childhood’s End. They join the previously announced Philip K. Dick’s The Man in the High Castle from Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions, writer/executive producer Frank Spotnitz, Headline Pictures and FremantleMedia International, Stephen King’s Eyes of the Dragon, from Universal Cable Productions (UCP) and Ostar Productions, and Darkfall,** also from UCP and Jim Henson Productions, as long form productions.

By Jamie Ruby Syfy's newest miniseries, a new adaptation of Treasure Island, will premiere in a special one night movie event on May 5th from 7-11PM (ET/PT). The film is a fresh take on Robert Louis Stevenson's classic adventure, featuring an all-star cast, including Eddie Izzard as Long John Silver, Elijah Wood as Ben Gunn, and Donald Sutherland as Flint. Izzard, along with the executive producer of the film, Robert Halmi Sr. and Thomas Vitale, Syfy executive and Vice President, Programming and Original Movies, talked to the media recently about the upcoming miniseries.

By Jamie Ruby Syfy will be launching its countdown to Christmas week, starting with the all new original four-hour miniseries, Neverland. The show is a origin story about how the characters we all know and love from J.M. Barrie's classic become those characters. Written and directed by Nick Willing, who directed the miniseries Tin Man, as well as Alice, which he also wrote, Neverland will air over two consecutive nights, begining on December 4th. The miniseries stars Charlie Rowe of Pirate Radio as Peter Pan, Rhys Ifans, who many fans will know from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, as James Hook, and Anna Friel of Pushing Daisies as Captain Elizabeth Bonnie. The three stars recently joined the press at the Syfy Digital Press Tour in Orlando, Florida to talk about the epic adventure.

By Jamie Ruby If you think you know the story of Peter Pan, think again. Tonight Syfy will premiere the first half of its four-hour original miniseries, Neverland, which will conclude tomorrow night. The story is a prequel - an origin story, penned by Nick Willing, who previously directed the Syfy miniseries Alice, which he also wrote, and Tin Man. If you have watched either of those, you probably already have an idea that Neverland, although containing bits of the classic, will stand on its own.

Exclusive: Syfy Digital Press Tour 2011

Once again SciFi Vision will be attending the Syfy Digital Press Tour at Universal in Orlando, Florida. The event starts this Sunday, 10/09 with a luau hosted by Josh Gates as well as a visit to Halloween Horror Nights, and continues with panels on Monday. Be sure to follow @scifivision on Twitter for the latest updates (as well as Facebook which I will be setting up shortly). I will be tweeting live during the events and panels and will be posting photos and videos as well as exclusive interview clips, and of course some quotes live during the panels. The day will conclude with our exclusive private tour of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I will also be taking questions starting now so please submit those to me through twitter. Please be sure to include the appropriate show hashtags so I know who the questions are for. Once photos and videos are posted into my gallery I will post the links on twitter, and eventually here once I get the chance.
