Callie ThorneSome of Necessary Roughness’s story lines are wrapping up while new ones emerge on the mid-season finale. During a conference call SciFi Vision attended with Necessary Roughness star, Callie Thorne, she shared her thoughts about the mid-season finale.

“T.K. and Dani and Matt and Nico all are sort of forced into this big fork in the road that is about choice. And not being able to figure out if there’s a right or a wrong. I think we all were in this place, we were all very excited to be and to have the show take this particular tone for a finale.”

Thorne goes on to say, “we wanted to keep everything really grounded in reality and not have it necessarily be something soap opera-ish, but much more developed in the big choices in life, the game changers.”

Evan HandlerNecessary Roughness follows the life of Dr. Dani Santino (Callie Thorne), a psychotherapist as well as single mother, who is hired to be the psychologist for the football team the New York Hawks. The series revolves around her and her patients as they struggle both on and off the field.

This season introduces the owner of the Hawks, Marshall Pittman, played by Evan Handler, who fans may know as Charlie Runkle on Californication, or previously for his role as Harry Goldenblatt on Sex and the City.

Handler recently talked to the media about his role on the show.

Necessary RoughnessThe USA series Necessary Roughness focuses on the character of Dr. Dani Santino, played by Callie Thorne. Dani's life is turned upsidedown when she finds out her husband cheated. Pushing herself more into her work, she becomes a therapist for high-profile patients, such as athletes, entertainers, and politicians. The series also stars Marc Blucas as Matthew Donnally, Mehcad Brooks as Terrance "TK" King, and Scott Cohen as Nico.

Tonight is the season one finale of the series, with special guest star football icon Terrell Owens as TK's lifelong rival. In the episode, the Hawks head into the playoffs as Dr. Dani works with a new client. Also Nico must choose where his loyalties lie.

Both Marc Blucas and Terrell Owens sat down with the media to talk about the series.

Orlando JonesNecessary Roughness follows a divorcee, Dani Santino (Callie Thorne), who becones a therapist for a professional football team and others living in the spotlight. The series also stars Mehcad Brooks as football player TK, who Santino tries to help, even if he's not all that receptive at first.

On the series, Orlando Jones plays the character of Lazarus "Laz" Rollins, a life coach sought out by TK.

The comedian has appeared on television before in series such as MADtv, which he also wrote for, Ghost Whisperer, and House M.D. Jones has also worked in film with movies such as Office Space, The Replacements, and the sci-fi comedy where he starred alongside David Duchovny, Evolution.

Jones sat down with the media to talk about his role on Necessary Roughness.

Mehcad BrooksThe new USA Network series, Necessary Roughness, follows Dani Santino (Callie Thorne) as she becomes a therapist for a football team. She must learn to balance work and family life. The first team member she treats is Terrence King, played by Mehcad Brooks.

Brooks is probably most known for his work on Desperate Housewives and more recently for his role of Eggs on True Blood. He can also be seen in the upcoming Chris Carter (The X-Files) film, Fencewalker.

Aside from acting, Brooks is also one of the new models for Calvin Klein underwear advertisements.

Brooks recently sat down with the press to discuss his new series.
