The return to Storybrooke’s earliest days, just after The Curse took hold, has been much ballyhooed, with its promise of revisiting some characters left by the wayside. (Well, actually, based on fan response, the main attraction was the Huntsman/Sheriff Graham.) Coming on the heels of Cora’s demise, it fills in another major gap in Regina’s story and establishes exactly what life in Storybrooke was like before Henry lured Emma to town.

Once Upon A Time brings the reign of the Evil Queens to a close with “The Miller’s Daughter.” Cora’s background is filled in finally, and it becomes clear her storyline would have benefitted immensely from presenting this earlier. This show used to excel at giving archetypal characters a human dimension. Instead, for the third time this season (Jack, Johanna), we are presented with an interesting character, only to see them shuffled off the stage by the end of the episode. Unlike the others, Cora was around for more than one episode. But knowing her motivations sooner would have the actions of her and Regina less inexplicable.

By Jamie Ruby End of the World, the newest Syfy original movie, premieres tomorrow night. The movie follows two video store employees ( Eureka's Neil Grayston and Heroes' Greg Grunberg) as they must use their disaster movie knowledge to save the world from destruction. They also get help from a mental patient, played by Brad Dourif, who's known to most as the voice of Chucky from the Child's Play franchise. The three actors, along with executive producer Lisa Hansen, talked to the digital media recently to discuss the film, which airs tomorrow night on Syfy. Grayston told SciFi Vision that his favorite part had to do with the actual process. "Sort of my favorite part was the whole filming process, because it was a really sort of open and free and it almost felt a little bit like gorilla film making at certain times because we were just sort of fighting for the light all day. "But we also just got to play around especially a lot of the scenes involved just me and Greg just sort of bantering back and forth and we got to kind of explore that a lot and very quickly. So it was a really fun shoot just in general and it kind of all blurs together now that I think of it because it was so open and free, but it was definitely one of my favorite experiences filming something."

Once the smoke dissipated over Storybrooke, the question was which show would the producers of “Once Upon A Time” return with, having given themselves this massive purple reset button. Would it be the intriguing, surprisingly complex version of the first seven episodes, or the haphazard and inconsistent show that followed? The answer is quite a bit of the latter, with a final reveal that might lead to some of the former.

While I appreciated that "Blue On Blue" ran with some of the hanging plot threads from "Captain", it doesn't feel like a complete episode to me. The parts seem to still be coalescing into something interesting, but it's not quite there yet. Lines are being drawn amongst the crew of the USS Colorado and the grip Captain Chaplin has on the Sainte Marina island is tenuous at best. The episode contains a lot of talk about how difficult it's going to be when brothers in arms who should be friendly are forced to shoot and kill each other, yet the show then takes an abrupt turn to another direction, and the conflict is then dropped. It's very strange.

I will admit that "666 Park Avenue" is in the correct timeslot for what the show is. This is not a show that is going to require a ton of thinking or investment in a big mythology. So I think it's the perfect show to end the television week. Beyond that, it has a great hook for genre fans in veteran actor Terry O'Quinn, and that aspect compensates for the somewhat weak premise.

Throughout the opening scenes of this first episode of "Last Resort", I kept wondering why networks don't do more submarine military dramas. Enclosed spaces, lots of pressure, real potential for drama. "Captain" hums along in the first half to show regular life on board a US nuclear submarine. Then it ramps up the drama and action and complications. There is a lot stuffed into this pilot episode, and there is a lot to chew on by the end.
