By Jamie Ruby After five seasons and 100 episodes, Fringe came to a close on Friday. In preparation for the finale, series star Joshua Jackson, who played Peter Bishop, talked to the press about the end of his journey. Jackson talked to SciFi Vision about what he would miss. "Well the thing that you end up missing the most actually is not what gets put on the screen. The hardest thing to walk away from over a long formed TV show is the camaraderie of the company, both the crew and the group of actors that you have together. That's always the hardest thing to walk away from. "Creatively, I feel like the show came to a natural and satisfactory ending. So I hope that people will be satisfied with the way that we put the story to bed tonight. And I feel like instead of either stretching to show on for too long or having it sort of cut off in an abortive way, I feel like we got to tell the ending of our story. So for that I'm really satisfied, but I will miss the people that I was working with for the last four years."

By AJ Grillo For five seasons we have watched our Fringe team do the impossible. Now it has come time for them to do the hardest thing of all, end its glorious run. We have laughed and cried and tried to figure out what the heck was going on. Through the twists and turns of season five we have gotten those answers, and a short time ago the finale came and went and the final answer was revealed. It was a glorious send off to one of the best shows ever on television. It had everything a finale should have; love, laughs, action, suspense, intrigue, and heartbreaking moments. Fringe did what few other shows have been able to do; they wrapped everything up while reminding us of every season come to pass.

By Jamie Ruby Tonight Fox will be airing "The Boy Must Live," the eleventh episode of the fifth and final season of Fringe. The last two episodes will air the following week, back to back. As the series is coming to a close, John Noble, who plays Walter Bishop on the series, talked to the digital media yesterday about what fans can expect, his favorite memories, and everything else in between. Noble told talked to SciFi Vision about his favorite version of Walter to play. "I loved it when he was being random, which was probably the original version of him more than anyone else. I loved doing Walter then and all of the different mental states that we've played in during the time, but when he was being completely random and had very poor social skills. "I loved the scenes that he played with Peter, the connecting stuff that I played with Josh Jackson over the five years. Both of us really loved doing that work. There were so many different aspects of Walter, the comedy and drama and emotion and so forth. He was a fully-fledged character. So it's hard for me to say what my favorite one was...Fringe is essentially a love story and so the scenes where he had close connection with Peter, but also with Anna's character (Anna Torv as Olivia) or Jasika's character (Jasika Nicole as Astrid), were very special to me."

It’s become a tradition for “Fringe” to have an off-format installment with Episode 19 of each season, but with only 13 episodes for the fifth and final run, that obviously wasn’t going to happen. Yet the writers wanted to keep the tradition alive in some sense; it makes sense that Episode 5.9 would be the one to get that duty.

With the preliminaries over and done with between “Letters of Transit” and the fifth season premiere, the writers finally get down to the business of setting up the details of the final story arc. It’s a bit of a mixed bag, with some of the character beats overcoming the weaknesses of a rather tedious plot structure.

To say that this episode moves quickly is an understatement. Launching directly out of the end of “Letters of Transit”, the writers are clearly intent on telling an intricate and detailed final tale in the “Fringe” universe. Few shows are this ambitious, and it speaks to the dedication of everyone involved in the production of the show that this leap to the future actually works well as the final chapter to the narrative.

Tonight Fringe returns for its fifth and final season on Fox. The episode, "Transilience Thought Unifer Model-11," picks up where last season's "Letters of Transit" left off - after ambering themselves for twenty years, the team is reunited in 2036 by an adult Etta (Georgina Haig), except Olivia (Anna Torv), who is missing. The team must race to find her and the last piece of the puzzle that is in her possession.
