Another episodic photo from the third season episode of Defiance, "The World We Seize," which aired 6/12/15, after the jump.

Friday Syfy premieres its new highly-anticipated series, Killjoys. The series takes place in the future and follows three bounty hunters called Killjoys. Killjoys, hired by the Company, hold no allegiance to any government, and abide by one code: the warrant is all.

Stars Aaron Ashmore, who plays John, Luke Macfarlane, who plays his brother D'Avin, and Hannah John-Kamen who plays Dutch, recently talked to the media about their new series and what fans can expect.

The cast talked to SciFi Vision about their chemistry when first working together. Macfarlane credits a lot to the casting, but also to their senses of humor. "So much of it is credit due to the casting process; we had a really great casting director that took the time to really do mix and matches. So as we're slowly assembling this group, we auditioned with various people, and that's always terribly nerve racking as an actor, but I think ultimately it's really a useful thing to do. Because, yes, we got along from the beginning almost immediately, a very similar sense of humor."

Ashmore agreed. "I think that as far as chemistry and stuff like that, you either have it or you don't. That is something that obviously [is] due to the casting process, and when they're doing a show like this that obviously revolves around the characters having dynamic chemistry, it's really important. But sometimes you just really luck out, and I think the three of us have become really good friends, and we got along so, so well, and it's kind of rare. So I think it's special, and I think that we all appreciate it, and it's lucky too that you get three people that just get along so well."

John-Kamen added, "And I think it's a great – but it's important to have the chemistry on the screen and off. And I think that we all have the same sense of humor which really helps."

Last Friday Syfy premiered season three of Defiance. In preparation of the premiere, Grant Bowler, who stars as Joshua Nolan, recently talked to the digital media about the new season.

The town of Defiance is a very different place at the start of season three. Bowler talked to SciFi Vision about some of the changes and where Nolan begins his journey this season. "You know, we've obviously established Defiance as not only an incredibly dangerous place to live, which very heavily featured in that first double episode, but also the tenants have always been on the verge of disaster or boom or collapse, [which] really reminds me of California in the gold rush.

"And my character of the season is fabulous. I'm really, really happy and grateful for what Kevin [Murphy] got me to do this year, because he's much more about a story of what's going on for him in Season 3 than he is about chasing around other people's stories which, by and large, he was doing in one and two.

In the future, the planetary unit of the Quad, made up of the planet Qresh and its three moons, is on the verge of an interplanetary war. When someone wants someone arrested or killed, they use the Company to hire what are known as Killjoys, non-biased bounty hunters who hold no allegiance to any government, only the Company.

Killjoys compete for specific types of warrants to earn "joy," their form of currency. They only abide by their code: "The Warrant is All."

Two bounty hunters by the names of Dutch (Hannah John-Kamen) and John Jaqobis (Aaron Ashmore) pilot The Lucy (voice of Tamsen McDonough), a space craft with a snarky attitude, as they pursue warrants across the Quad, docking on the moon of Westerley, the more run down and lower class of the moons, where they frequent the bar, The Royale. They are eventually joined by John's estranged brother, D'Avin (Luke Macfarlane).

From the start of the premiere episode, it's easy to see the potential in Killjoys. It's a fun sci-fi space adventure, which has been missing from Syfy for a while. Some people have been comparing it to the cult classic Firefly, but although a bit of the main plot sounds similar, it's really its own unique show.

Episodic photos from the first season episode of Dark Matter, "Episode Three," airing 6/26/15, after the jump.

Tonight Syfy premieres its new highly anticipated series, Dark Matter, based on the graphic novel of the same name. The series follows the crew of a derelict spacecraft after they awaken from stasis with no memory of who they are or why they are there. While trying to figure out answers, they awaken the ship's android, played by Lost Girl's Zoie Palmer. The crew must work together, which includes utilizing the Android's help, to find out the truth.

Palmer recently talked to Jamie Ruby of SciFi Vision in an exclusive interview about her time working on the new series, and what fans can expect.

The actress may have already worked with Syfy on another series, but she still got the role of the Android by auditioning. "Of course the producers from Lost Girl knew me, but the creators of Dark Matter didn't. You know, like they sort of hadn't met me, or weren't overly familiar with my work. So I auditioned for those guys, and we kind of went from there. It was kind of that process.
