Isolated. Alone yet claustrophobic in a facility with no way to escape. Hunted by a man who doesn't seem quite human anymore. Who can you trust; people turning on their friends and neighbors.

All of these are feelings the characters in Helix must inexplicably feel from the terror that is among them, being confined to the research facility that will be their new home for their indeterminable future.

In October, the digital press was given special access to the set of Helix, and SciFi Vision took part.

Friday Syfy premieres its new original series Helix. The series focuses on a team of scientists of the Centers for Disease Control who come to the Arctic Biosystems research facility, at the request of Dr. Hiroshi Hatake (Hiroyuki Sanada) to investigate what could be a disease outbreak. The team is led by pathologist Dr. Alan Farragut, played by Billy Campbell, whose brother Peter (Neil Napier) is one of the infected patients. He is joined by his team members including cellular biologist Dr. Julia Walker, played by Kyra Zagorsky, who also happens to be his ex-wife, as well as virologist Dr. Sarah Jordan (Jordan Hayes) and veterinary pathologist Dr. Doreen Boyle (Catherine Lemieux). Also in the mix is Army liaison Major Sergio Balleseros (Mark Ghanimé) and Daniel Aerov (Meegwun Fairbrother), head of security at Arctic Biosystems.

Monday the new werewolf series Bitten premieres on Syfy. The series follows Elena Michaels, played by Laura Vandervoort, the only female werewolf in existence, as she struggles to hide her true identify and keep a normal life, while also wanting to belong.

Earlier in the week, Vandervoort, along with Kelley Armstrong, the author of the Otherworld book series on which the television show was originally based, talked to the digital media about the new show.

One of the victims of the virus is Peter Farragut (Neil Napier), the brother of Dr. Alan Farragut (Billy Campbell), the leader of the team of scientists. Also included on the team is Alan's ex-wife, Dr. Julia Walker, played by Kyra Zagorsky.

In preparation of the premiere, Zagorsky, along with executive producer Steven Maeda, talked to the digital press earlier in the week.
