Since joining the crew of Discovery in season three, Adira Tal has become an almost indispensable part of the crew. Their engineering genius sometimes make us forget that Adira is the youngest person aboard, still just a kid trying to figure out who they want to be. 

In this week’s episode (503, “Jinaal”) the away team is on Trill, where Adira reconnects with long-distance boyfriend Gray. During a recent interview with the press, SciFi Vision asked performer Blu del Barrio how they channel their inner teenager to make the emotion resonate on screen.

Wilson Cruz, who plays Dr. Hugh Culber, and Mary Wiseman, who plays Sylvia Tilly, were also part of the interview.
