Tonight, an all-new episode of The Irrational airs on NBC. The series follows Jesse L. Martin as Alec Mercer, a renowned behavioral science professor. With the help of his dedicated team and innovative social-science experiments, Mercer works to solve high-stakes crimes, reveal underlying truths, and answer irrational questions.

In tonight’s episode, “Formal Ties,” when Alec and Marisa (Maahra Hill) attend a wedding at the foreign embassy of a daughter of a mutual friend, it quickly becomes a murder investigation when the father of the bride is killed. Meanwhile, Phoebe (Molly Kunz) continues to deal what to do about her professor, who she discovered is plagiarizing a student’s work.

In High Potential, an exceptionally brilliant single mother Morgan Gillory (Kaitlin Olsen), who has a knack for crime solving, teams up with a by-the-book detective Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), creating a dynamic duo that tackles crime in unconventional ways. Created by Drew Goddard, High Potential is adapted from the French series Haut Potentiel Intellectual (HPI).

In tonight's episode, a chaotic office party at a leading medical technology startup results in the unexpected murder of the founder and CEO. Meanwhile, Morgan develops an interest in a new colleague at the precinct.  

Amirah J plays the role of Ava, Olsen’s daughter on the series. The actress recently spoke with SciFi Vision about working on the series with Olsen, as well as teased what’s to come in the new episode, which airs tonight, and much more.

***The following is review/breakdown followed by a detailed recap of episode 306 of FROM, “Scar Tissue,” and it contains spoilers for the episode.***

The episode had a few really important scenes when it came to the mystery, but most of the episode was more just about moving the story forward.

The episode opens with Tabitha and Jim arguing. This scene really highlights that Jim is doing a very bad job parenting. He acts like it was so difficult for him to take care of the kids when she was only gone a few days, which she points out, but even in those few days, Jim did not take care of his kids. He ran off, more than once, even if it was to go after Tabitha. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t feel that Tabitha should have left originally either, but the kids weren’t alone when she left. Jim repeatedly left Julie to take care of Ethan alone, and in fact Ethan almost died in the first episode when he ran out at night when they were once again, alone. I did enjoy, however, Tabitha yelling at him for it, even if she hasn’t been the world’s best mother either. It sounds like from what Julie said before that neither of them were really around after Thomas died. We do in the scene get a bit more insight though into how Tabitha is still affected by the town meeting from the episode before. I did also enjoy when they are screaming, and you hear the creature scream from outside. Julie thankfully was just over it and is letting her mother know that they are affected by their arguments, and this time probably everyone heard them. Even Ethan is aware they are having issues.

There is a very interesting conversation with Jade and Boyd at the bar while he’s talking about the numbers from the bottle tree. It’s always great when characters share information, and I love seeing Jade trying to piece it together, because I always feel like he represents the fans trying to figure out the series. Jade says that it is possible that the place Tabitha went to in Maine occupies the same space as the lighthouse and that it’s not so much as a wormhole but a dimensional rift. This theory actually could hold some weight, especially because there are two bottle trees in the real world like there are in the town, which makes me think they are in the same place as well. If you think about what happened to Dale, it’s the same thing: two objects in the same space, but he got stuck on the way. I am also very curious if the one bottle tree in Maine, the one Tabitha and Henry never made it to, could have possibly been a faraway tree in the real world, but at this point we may never know.

In tonight’s all-new episode of FROM, while Jade (David Alpay) continues to try to put the clues together, he talks to who appears to be Tom the Bartender (Reid Price) about Tabitha (Catalina Sandino Moreno)’s visions and how they must mean something, yet he doesn’t seem to trust what he himself sees. Recently, when SciFi Vision spoke with Alpay, he talked about why he thinks that might be. “I wonder if maybe there's a chance that because Jade is aware that he's seeing Tom the Bartender, and he's aware that he's having these hallucinations, that maybe he's not the most trustworthy narrator of his own sort of inner monologue,” explained the actor to the site. “It's like at what point do the things that I'm seeing cease to be helpful, and at what point are they delusions that are taking me off the right path?”

Alpay also spoke to Jade’s connection with Tabitha and how it’s important they are sharing information. “That's something that hasn't happened previously, and different characters have different experiences,” said the actor. “It's the totality of that experience that is going to help figure out how to get out of it, whether it's Jade who does it or somebody else…So, Tabitha's got information that Jade needs. Other people have information that Jade needs, and it's a matter of leveraging those relationships, for sure.”

The actor also speculated on things such as whether or not Tabitha even actually returned to Maine, whether Jade is aware Sara (Avery Konrad) killed Tobey (Colby Conrad) and how he would react if he found out, and much more.

The first two episodes of the new series Before premieres today on Apple TV+. Before stars comedy icon Billy Crystal as Eli, a child psychologist mourning his late wife, Lynn (Judith Light). Eli meets Noah (Jacobi Jupe), a young troubled boy, when he shows up at his doorstep. Eli soon discovers Noah has a mysterious link to his own past. As he endeavors to help Noah, their bond intensifies, revealing haunting memories and unsettling truths about Eli’s past.

It's not the first time Crystal played the role of a psychologist before, having starred as Dr. Ben Sobel in the Analyze movies almost twenty-five years ago, but it was really being a grandfather of four that helped prepare him for playing Eli, the actor told SciFi Vision in a recent interview. “I've helped them grow up,” explained Crystal to the site. “So, dealing with them and through their problems, obviously nothing as traumatic as Noah has, but it's just how you talk to a child. How do you communicate with them?”

The actor added that he also spoke to a couple of pediatric psychiatrists about different techniques.

Jupe, who is fairly new to the industry learned a lot from the veteran. “Billy is so supportive [and] and helpful towards me acting,” he told SciFi Vision. “I'm really new to it, and he was really helpful in that way.”

Tom Hardy returns as Venom in Venom: The Last Dance, in theaters starting today. Hunted by both their words, Eddie Brock and Venom are forced to flee. As things go from bad to worse they are forced to make a decision that could end their symbiotic partnership for good.

During the film, Eddie and Venom run into Mrs. Chen, played by Peggy Lu, at a casino where she and Venom share a dance.
