The Gray House, which premiered today on Prime Video, follows a group of Southern women operating a Union spy ring inside Confederate Richmond during the Civil War. At the center is Elizabeth Van Lew (Daisy Head), a wealthy socialite who secretly supports the Union and begins passing information from the heart of the Confederacy. Working alongside her is her mother, Eliza Van Lew (Mary-Louise Parker), who maintains their public standing while quietly helping the operation. They are aided by the formerly enslaved Mary Jane Richards (Amethyst Davis), who becomes a key operative, carrying information across enemy lines, and Clara Parish (Hannah James), who gathers intelligence through her proximity to high-ranking officials. Working together and risking their lives and freedom, they help evolve the Underground Railroad operation into a highly effective spy network.
