Written and directed by Aaron Davidman, the film American Solitaire follows war veteran Sliner (Joshua Close) after returning home from combat and how he deals with the aftermath. In a country that often celebrates guns and glorifies violence, the journey to return to civilian life and find himself again won’t be easy. The film, which also stars Gilbert Owuor as Auggie and Joanne Kelly as Athena, examines the psychological toll of combat and hidden costs of serving in the military.

Writer and director Davidman, along with stars Close, Owuor, and Kelly, recently spoke with SciFi Vision about working on the emotional film, which is currently in theaters.
