Early Review: Haven - "Countdown"

By Jamie Ruby

HavenTonight's episode picks off where the last left off, after Audrey (Emily Rose) told Duke (Eric Balfour) that she remembered everything. I have to say, I was really surprised by this development (and subsequent development through this episode), as I expected it to stretch longer through the season, and also, I wasn't even sure she would actually be completely "Audrey" again. However, even though I didn't expect the revelation, I am happy for it. I was also glad that characters continue to try to come up with different ways to get rid of the troubles.

HavenThe trouble in the episode focuses on people dying after seeing a countdown on electronic devices, with no apparent way to stop it. As far as troubles go, it was a decent one, but I, and most people, will be more concerned with the character development in this episode.

There are a few big surprises in this episode - two people change their ways, and there is a shock at the end, which I won't reveal here.

I can't really talk specifically about certain character interactions I enjoyed the most without giving anything away, though I will say that I one scene I enjoyed was with Vince (Richard Donat) and Jordan (Kate Kelton). Kelton also had some interesting scenes with Christian Camargo (Wade). There was some great interaction between Emily Rose and Lucas Bryant as well.

Fans should enjoy this episode, and for those that have been waiting for the mythology to move forward, that definitely happens here in pretty big ways.
