Written by Bryan Schulz and Cornelius Uliano and directed by David Henrie, Monster Summer opens today in theaters. The summer of 1997 is disrupted for Noah (Mason Thames) and his friends and baseball teammates, Ben (Noah Cottrell), Eugene (Julian Lerner), and Sammy (Abby James Witherspoon), when a mysterious evil presence arrives in town, which culminates when an sinister force appears before Ben and his date Ellie (Lilah Pate) during a late night swim. Driven by a desire to honor his late father's legacy as a journalist, Noah embarks on an investigation of his own, irregardless of his friends advice, and teams up with retired detective and recluse Gene (Mel Gibson) to save his friend. The film, which also stars Lorraine Bracco, Kevin James, Nora Zehetner, and Patrick Renna, is a spooky adventure for the whole family.

Director and executive producer Henrie recently spoke with SciFi Vision about making the film, including working with both the seasoned and younger cast, some of the difficulties he faced, and much more.
