Fringe Gets Picked Up For A Full Season Order!

It's official. Fox's sci-fi cult drama Fringe has been renewed for a fourth season. The series has gotten the full order of 22 episodes next season, regardless of the drop in ratings since the series moved to Fridays earlier this year. Executive producer of the series J.H. Wyman revealed the news last night by tweeting "Fringe was picked up!!!! Thanks Fringedom!"

Wyman and the other showrunner Jeff Pinker go on to say, "This early pickup comes at a perfect time as we start production on the season three finale. We join the cast and crew in thanking our loyal fans and Fox for allowing us to have this much fun telling stories we love."

Fox sent out the official press release this morning. Co-creator and executive producer J.J. Abrams has said, "We could not be happier that the fans of 'Fringe' (and our most excellent partners at Fox) have allowed us to continue telling stories from the fringe for another season!"

New episodes of Fringe continue tonight at 9pm ET on Fox.
