Meet Pearl Mackie – The Doctor’s New Companion

BBC AMERICA today announced Pearl Mackie will join the Doctor Who cast as The Doctor’s new companion. Pearl was exclusively revealed to audiences on BBC One during half time the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday 23^rd August.

On joining the cast in her first major television role, Pearl said: “I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Doctor Who family. It’s such an extraordinary British institution, I couldn’t be prouder to call the TARDIS my home!

NEW YORK — April 20, 2016 — USA Network today announced the highly-anticipated season two return of the award-winning series MR. ROBOT. The 10-episode season will premiere on Wednesday, July 13 at 10/9c.
 
MR. ROBOT follows Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek), a young cyber-security engineer who becomes involved in the underground hacker group fsociety, after being recruited by their mysterious leader (Christian Slater). Following the events of fsociety’s 5/9 hack on multi-national company Evil Corp, the second season will explore the consequences of that attack as well as the illusion of control.

TERRY MATALAS (“12 MONKEYS”) INKS OVERALL DEAL WITH UNIVERSAL CABLE PRODUCTIONS

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – April 14, 2016 – Universal Cable Productions (UCP) announced today it has closed an overall deal with showrunner Terry Matalas (“12 Monkeys”). Under the new pact, Matalas will develop and produce scripted programming with UCP for the NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment portfolio as well as for external networks and streaming services. The announcement was made today by Dawn Olmstead, Executive Vice President, Development at UCP and Richard Rothstein, Executive Vice President, Current Programming at UCP.

“Terry is a great writer and he's everything you want in a showrunner. He loves big ideas, writes amazing characters and always surprises us where he takes them,” said Olmstead. “We look forward to many more projects with Terry in the future. We’re lucky to be working with him.”

TNT Officially Greenlights Tales From The Crypt 10-Episode Series and Orders Time of Death (working title) Pilot from IM Global Television For Tales from the Crypt Horror Block

TNT, a division of Turner, and M. Night Shyamalan are ramping up TNT's new Tales from the Crypt horror block. The network has officially greenlit an initial 10-episode order of the fan favorite Tales from the Crypt anthology series, based on the original EC Comics. The anthology series will be at the center of each week's chilling lineup, guided by a newly reinvented Crypt Keeper, one of the most popular characters in the Tales from the Crypt universe. TNT's new Tales from the Crypt horror block is now slated to launch in 2017.

In building the horror block, TNT has ordered a pilot for Time of Death (working title), a seasonal anthology series from IM Global Television. TNT has also begun development on Creatures, from Naegle Ink.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA – April 1, 2016 – Syfy and The Asylum today revealed that the official title of the next SHARKNADO movie is…SHARKNADO: THE 4^TH AWAKENS! The two hour original movie will premiere four months from now on a TV very, very nearby – on Syfy, Sunday, July 31 at 8PM ET/PT.

The fourth installment of the SHARKNADO franchise will take place five years after the East Coast was ravaged in last summer’s SHARKNADO 3: OH HELL NO!. Fin (Ian Ziering), his family and the cosmos have been blissfully sharknado-free in the intervening years, but now sharks – and ‘nados! – are being whipped up in places (and ways) least expected.
